Haskap/Honeyberry, variety Blizzard

Boreal Blizzard haskap (Lonicera caerulea ‘Blizzard’) is a hardy, high‑yielding berry shrub developed for exceptional fruit size and productivity. It produces large, firm, deep blue berries with a smooth skin and a balanced sweet‑tart flavor that works well for fresh eating, freezing, baking, and preserves. Ripening early in the season, Blizzard is known for its heavy crops and uniform fruit, making it a standout variety for both home growers and larger plantings.

This vigorous shrub grows to approximately 5–6 feet tall and wide, forming a dense, rounded habit ideal for hedges, berry rows, or edible landscapes. Blizzard Haskap thrives in USDA Hardiness Zones 2–7, performing especially well in colder climates where many other fruits struggle. It prefers full sun to partial shade and well‑drained soil.

Haskaps require cross-pollination with another compatible haskap variety to produce fruit. An ideal pollinator for Blizzard is either Boreal Beauty or Boreal Beast.

Potted in 1 liter pots, and averages 6″ to 12″ in height.

**IMPORTANT INFO: Boreal Blizzard honeyberries are now being sold as semi-dormant/dormant. They’re at the stage where they lost remaining leaves, or only have a few remaining. You will receive it in its pot with soil.
