Who are we?

Plume & Leaf Farm is a small farm on almost 9 acres of land in upstate New York, between Ithaca and Cortland. The owner, Carrieanne Le Bras, is slowing building the property by creating an edible garden for future u-picks and silvopasture on 5 acres across our creek. The goal is use the property to produce food, while at the same time, feeding the land and creating a natural ecosystem that attracts beneficial insects and protected precious bees.

A silvopasture is an intentionally managed agroforestry practice that integrates trees, forage (pasture), and livestock on the same land. It boosts ecosystem services by sequestering 5–10 times more carbon than treeless pastures, while providing shade for animals, diversifying income through timber/nuts, and increasing overall, long-term farm productivity.
